Values and sustainability
The relais
Sustainable practices, green certifications, and organic farming projects
Among the values we promote, sustainability plays an essential role. As a cornerstone of the Relais & Châteaux manifesto, it's the main inspiration in our daily operations. Zero Waste Hotel certification, studies on 100% renewable energy, green initiatives, and organic farming projects are just some of the sustainable practices adopted at our Relais.
Food for Change
Our commitment in the social, economic, and environmental fields continues in the kitchen with the Food for Change campaign and participation in World Ocean’s Day. The farm is transitioning to organic, a great passion of Riccardo Baracchi now passed on to Benedetto.
Organic production
32 hectares of vineyards and 6 of olive groves ensure the production of high-quality wine and oil. The farm life harmoniously integrates with top-level hospitality.
Art of hospitality
Villa di San Martino
Villa di San Martino, immersed in the picturesque Tuscan landscape, joined Relais & Châteaux in 1997, confirming its expert art of hospitality and gastronomy, being unique and authentic.
Each hospitality structure is the result of intense historical, architectural, and landscape restoration, enhancing the territory for guests and future generations. The restaurant involves many local producers, sharing the same ethical and sustainable philosophy with Il Falconiere.
L’art de vivre
Relais & Chateaux
Relais & Châteaux, founded in 1954, is an association of 580 charming hotels and exceptional restaurants managed by independent owners, Maîtres de Maison, and chefs, sharing a passion for their work and the desire to establish authentic connections with their guests.
Present worldwide, the Relais & Châteaux collection is an invitation to discover the art de vivre characteristic of each culture and to share a journey to the roots of unique human stories, aiming to protect, keep alive, and value the richness and diversity of cuisines and hospitality traditions globally.
Il Falconiere is an essential stop on the Route du Bonheur.
In November 2014, Relais & Châteaux presented a Manifesto to UNESCO, underscoring the commitment to preserve local and environmental heritage.
